CONTRACT DUE BUT NOT ACCEPTING

Dear Vodacom,

I received an SMS some time back saying that my account will no longer be taking debit orders but I should pay cash / EFT. For this reason I have been settling my account like this ever since. I don't owe a cent in my account (am actually ahead on payments as I have paid for this month when its only due on the 30th).

I have been eligible for an upgrade so I went to take this out only to find out that my request for an upgrade was declined. Although the contract that I want will work out cheaper than my current package. I have spoken to three different departments today including:

1) General Dept. (082 111)
Phone call dropped twice
2) Legal Department
They told me there are no notes on my account and that all payments have been made etc. I should speak to the upgrades department.
3) Upgrades department:
I was told that I had missed a debit order (as I had received an SMS stating that I should settle accounts by cash / EFT). I was told that my account will be reviewed in three months.

This is totally ridiculous, how can I have credit now but renewing my contract is not allowed? It is essentially the same thing. Call me urgently to discuss.
