Contract charges after cancellation

Earlier this year, in February, this whole mess started with VODACOM and an incompetant person at vodacom cancelling my contract without my permission instead of putting a limit on my monthly usage. (As per my request) It took me 3 months and endless hours with call centres, emails etc. to sort it out. They cancelled my contract and moved me onto prepaid which means my 8 years of history with Vodacom has magically disappeared off their system...how convenient. Without my history on any of their systems, they were "unable" to sort out any billing issues and I was being transferred from call centre to call centre and no one knew how to sort out my query. It has taken MONTHS to sort out my contract, and it was only after placing a hellopeter post that I finally managed to change my prepaid back to a contract.

In July I cancelled my "non existing" contract for good as i was leaving the country to work abroad. Vodacom then deducted money of my account in August (for June usage) and September (for July usage). In November more money was deducted from my account, without any notifications, emails or explanation!! I phoned my bank to reverse the debit order (at international phone call rates of R228) because my contract has been cancelled, final payments have been made, and SURELY they can't be debiting my account TWO months after the final payment has been made???

I then get an email stating i must pay the "outstanding amount" and if i dont, they will blacklist me. I made another expensive international phonecall to Vodacom and after being transferred to a number of call centres, I'm eventually transferred to subscriber collections where they say i must pay the amount as it's for usage in July. But this payment was made in September...and the operator couldn't explain to me why there is another amount outstanding, but he did insist that i pay this apparent outstanding amount!

This is completely unacceptable.

I am fed up with the lack of service I've received from Vodacom and the inconvenience they have caused over the past 10 months.

On principal i refuse to pay the outstanding amount. Get your act together Vodacom. Treat your customers with respect and train your staff to be more competent, and please sort out your 5 hundred thousand sixty hundred different call centres.
