Contract cancelled but still being charged

I signed a contract at your Norwood store on the 8 April 2016. I was told my number would be ported from Mtn to Vodacom within 24 hours.

Despite numerous phone calls - 3 weeks later, the number was still with MTN.

On the 25 April 2016, I sent written notification to the Norwood branch that I was cancelling the contract as my sim card had still not been activated.

I approached Cell C on the 28 April 2016, my number was ported from MTN to Cell C in 5 hours.

During this time I was moving up and down from Johannesburg to Cape Town. When I was back in Johannesburg on the 1 /2 May I returned the instrument & sim card to the branch manageress from whom I received written confirmation of receipt of same.

On the 12 May 2016 I received my invoice & statement from Vodacom as I have another contract. To add insult to injury, I had been charged R526 on the 29 April and a further R499 on the 1 May on my number that is now with Cell C.

I forwarded the invoice to the manageress at Norwood and asked her to sort it out. She told me I need to do it in person. By this time I was back in Cape Town.

On the 27 May, my daughter's phone was suspended (soft locked) when we phoned the accounts department, we were told the account was in arrears! This is on a debit order over which we have no control!!! Debit order was due to go off on the 1 June.

Vodacom have now been paid - R499 and R526 for a phone that I don't have and a number that has never been on the Vodacom network.

I again went into your Norwood branch on the 1 June 2016 as I was in Johannesburg, after an hour and a half, I was eventually told I need to prove that my number is with Cell C and was ported on the 28 April 2016.

I am at the end of my tether!!!

It is now 2 months later and the above matter is still unresolved and I have now paid yet another 2 months on a contract that is non-existent.

I have sent 4 emails to Vodacom Customer care - I get a reference number, get told it is being dealt with and then nothing....

This is so frustrating, my next step is Consumer Protection because Vodacom obviously do not want to resolve the problem.

No response from Vodacom....

I have called the call centre this morning and have been told that a new query cannot be opened till the old query is resolved. This has been going on since July, what now???
