Contract cancelled - account still debited

Firstly, do not give me a generic response to this complaint that "a customer consultant will contact me", because of all the complaints I have logged for Vodacom, no one has EVER contacted me.

After phoning the cancellations department multiple times (staff keep putting the phone down, when you do speak to someone, they are very rude) on 24 Ocotber I obtained a quote to cancel my Vodacom contract which was due to expire on 2 November. The upgrade was due in August, but I was not interested. I was quoted an amount of R261-75 as a final payment due. I made the payment, and sent the signed quote, proof of payment and ID copy to ********** as instructed on the quote. I received a confirmation that the email was read, but no response from a consultant.

I went to the Vodashop in No 3 Simmonds street JHB on 27 Oct to enquire about the status of my request. The store manager eventually spoke to the cancellations department on my behalf. They advised that they never received the email from me to cancel my contract. The store manager then sent through the email to ********** (consultant at the cancellations dept) and ********** (manager at the cancellations dept). Brian confirmed that he did receive the email and the contract will be cancelled the same day and he will provide me with feedback, which he never did.

I proceeded to port my number to MTN which was done successfully. Today on 21 Nov, my bank account was debited with R96-75. What is this amount for? I have instructed my bank to return the debit order with no authority to debit, as the last payment due to Vodacom was the R261-75, which I have paid. I have done everything that Vodacom has asked me to, yet I am still having issues.

If you look at my previous complaints which were not addressed, I have even tried to remain a Vodacom customer, but your Retentions dept was not interested in keeping me as a customer. Now that I have decided to move to a different service provider, I am struggling to get rid of Vodacom.

I want confirmation that my contract has been cancelled and that I do not owe Vodacom any further amounts.

Please address this ASAP.

Contract number: I ********** -2 ( ********** 315)

Regards,

Michelle
