Contract cancellation nightmare

So we have two contracts, one for a phone and another for a tablet with data.

The tablet contract was gonna reach end of life in December, so a cancellation request was sent in October. This contract was not cancelled. After repeated requests for updates in the coming months to confirm cancellation, we heard little or nothing apart from automated responses (Which are useless...)

Then came January, when we received a hefty debit order, which was 10x more than the montly payment for the phone contract, and no airtime was received (I am sure anyone can guess where this is going...) Repeated attempts via mail was sent to find out what is going on with the payments etc. to which none was meaningfully rep****. Then when we finally got through to someone who was willing to do something and not infinitely transfer us into a state of mental fatigue to give up, they told us the wrong contract was cancelled. Hence the hefty amount charged for cancellation fees.

Then this past Sunday (22/01/2017) we were on the phone with the agents for quite some time and they logged a new query regarding the incorrect cancellation. Which they could see on their system. And a very fine promise to give me a call back on Monday (23/01/2017) at 12:30 PM. This did not happen. Neither did it on Tuesday (24/01/2017). And also not Wednesday (25/01/2017).

Throughout the whole nightmare to date, we have been harrassed by an automated debt collection and notification system with the options to pay, and pretty much nothing else; no options to query and dispute or speak to a human to discuss and find out options to handle the situation. The level of incompetence and unwillingness to help experienced thus far is shocking, and definitely not expected from Vodacom of all companies...

Good day Kulsoem

Firstly, My name is nor Rene Spence, and I am not sure who that is but I assume the response was copied and pasted as a general response.

The matter is not resolved, we did however speak to one or two people at Vodacom who said that this is unacceptable, and will resolve it. Pay back everything that was incorrectly billed and re-instate the contract that was incorrectly cancelled.

This morning though, yet another call requesting payment. And again by the same automated system with a recording, not by a person who can assist us in any way.

Not sure if it has been marked as resolved, but it definitely has not...

Kind regards and hope to get it resolved ASAP

Rudi
