Contract Cancellation

Hi, I can't imagine that it fair to bill someone 75% of the outstanding contract value upon cancellation of a contract. You quoted me +- R13 000 to cancel my contract!!!!! R4000 odd for the device, which is more that fair. R9000.00 for a service that I will not use, ever. Nowhere in my contract does it state that value (75%). Only that a reasonable cancelation charge will be levied. Please see your competitors fees below and tell me if you think that Vodacom's is reasonable, I summed up what it would have cost me:

CellC: Device + usage outstanding (+-R4500)

Telkom: Device + usage outstanding + R800 (+-5800)

MTN: Device + next month’s subscription + usage outstanding (+-5800)

Vodacom: 75% of all outstanding fees + usage outstanding (+- R13 000.00!!!!!)

Please respond urgently and tell me if you consider Vodacom’s fee as reasonable. It is most definitely not stated as such in the contract. I am not unfair and understand that I am terminating a contract. No one at Vodacom I have spoken to has remotely tried to understand what I am saying. Just “please pay to cancel”. Don't feel like anybody cares really.

Regards,

Jaco
