Contract Cancellation (14 Day)

In May 2020, I app**** for a contract via the Vodacom online portal. The contract was approved and I was not advised the Vodacom only ports numbers before the device is issued. I received the device and requested a port and this was not possible. I was advised that the only way to port was to cancel the contract and then reapply. I was advised of the 14 days in which I could cancel. I made use of this option and cancelled the contract. The courier company collected the device and I assumed my relationship with Vodacom had ended. At the end of June 2020, to my surprise a debit order went off my account for the contract which I had cancelled and the device which I had returned. I made use of the chat bot which put me through to an agent who advised there was no record of my contract and to return the debit order at my bank which I did. At the end of July a debit of more than double went off my account which returnhed and for which I incurred charges for. I spoke to two agents today 4 August 2020, the last being Refilwe in Subscrtiber Collections who was extremely condescending which infuriated me to a point of being rude. She offered little no assistance other than a call back which I still not have received. I want the contract cancelled on Vodacom's system as in yesterday and want the pro rata May debit order and my bank charges refunded to me.

Dear Vodacom

The matter has not been resolved. I received a call from a gentleman by the name of Lance. He said he would investigate and get back to me. I have not heard anything since yet I received an email stating my outstanding balance yet I do not have a sim card or a device from Vodacom.

Dear Vodacom

I truly thought this matter was over when a manager of yours by the name of Lance, contacted me to ensure cancellation of my contract in AUGUST 2021. On Thursday, 2 DECEMBER 2021, I received a call from VBN Debt collectors advising me I have been handed over and that I am owing in excess of R20 000. I immediately called Vodacom customer care who advised that I do not have an active profile with Vodacom (So please tell me how I am owing such a large amount?) the conversation proceeded to admitting that Vodacom had made an error and that my cancellation was not actioned on their systems and as such my profile was handed over. The agent who I spoke to, I cannot recall the name but I am sure the call is logged on Vodacom records advised that this would be changed and the debt collectors would be advised of such. Today, 8 DECEMBER 2021, I received another call form VBN Debt collectors, this time the lady who I spoke to, was a little bit more aggressive in her approach instructing me to get affidavits and threatened my credit record. Firstly I will not be inconvenienced due to an error by Vodacom staff. I did my bit and it is not my issue that you did not update your records. Secondly, I certainly wish you affect my credit record because then I will gladly take legal action and I am sure we do not want to go that route so please fix this ASAP.

I look forward to confirmation of resolution as well as a formal apology.

Thank you and regards
