Contract

My mother bought me a new contract. As soon as i put in the sim card rica,d on my mothers name the tablet started ringing. Messages came through for another person (not my mom) how can this happen. Now a vodacom consultant tells me that they used recycled numbers. And if i want a new number i must pay R280 and then its not garenteed to be a new one. Im going stop this contract if i dont get a proper answer coz the phone calls and messages are getting ridiculous
