Continued Poor Treatment of "Valued Client"

I have logged this issue before, so this is a continuation. In brief Vodacom sold me a data package for a Rand Value which is more than their competitors are charging, and where their competitors are offering up to 8 times the amount of data for less money. This non-competitive offer was made to me a "a valued customer". Go figure.

Lets give "credit" where credit is due- Vodacom did respond to my complaint via Ms Hafiza Sydow of their Customer Care Division. However: 1. She inferred that a competitive package may only be available in-store, but did not offer to facilitate such. 2. She indicated that the only other offer from Vodacom would be for me to cancel and she would obtain a quote and email me at the email address which I supp****. I never received the email quote and received an sms yesterday to say that my query has been resolved and today an sms which said that my query (1- ********** ********** ) had been closed. Lastly, I have no way of contacting Ms Sydow to follow up, so am still resorting to HelloPeter.com. To go back to the comment on "credit"- why does Vodacom still try to inconvenience me through a cancellation- either 1. Get me a competitive deal or 2. cancel the contract at no cost to me. PLEASE?

Reviewer Update
Unfortunately communication was very poor by Vodacom during the sending of the cancellation invoice. I was not aware it had been sent and was waiting for confirmation by the consultant that the invoice had been sent and which call was never made to me. was also not aware that the invoice had an expiry date and was under the impression that the cancellation invoice was ONE OPTION and not THE option to solve this matter as seems now to be the case. It doe seem as if Vodacom is choosing to be heavy handed and inflexible on this matter, and which again bears out my point- I AM NOT A VALUED CLIENT AS VERBALISED BY THE SALES CONSULTANT WHO SOLD ME AN OVERPRICED PRODUCT. I have not opened the product nor used it, but am being charged almost the full amount to cancel a service I have not received. In the interim, I am also paying a debit order for a service I am not receiving. I also which to point out that this is not the first time that Vodacom is ripping me off in a similar manner after selling a phone I had sent in for repairs and then Vodacom continued to charge me for a phone I did not have. Shame on you again Vodacom. I really hope that the next response is an improvement, as I which to return the overpriced product and at no further cost, and to have my debited funds returned. I hope that Vodacom has heard of the Consumer Protection Act in this regards?
