CONTENT SERVICES (WASP)

On opening up my bill this month, I have been billed an additional R 300 for content services. The people at Vodacom were very helpful, but Vodacom cannot tell me when I clicked on these subscriptions services or how. No one can actually prove that I have. (It's my word against theirs).

The one was apparently for Linda Shaw horoscopes and the other was for LAVAMOBI. Both of these have not sent me one thing since I have been a subscriber either. Surely Linda Shaw horoscopes should be sending me daily/weekly horoscope reviews?

Vodacom acknowledges this as an issue and that if I clicked on a page to close it, I may have been signed up that way. Really??? That is all the consent a company needs to start billing me? I hope my house isn't up for offer soon on the next page I close.

Vodacom best come up with a solution for this fast as it is giving them the bad name. Not the WASP service.

How do you just allow money to be deducted off my account without some sort of SMS to confirm? Time to move to pay as you go and not renew my account in January.

This is theft and disgusting.

Very pleased with the way that this turned out. RJ was fantastic and explained how I could get more info on this, how to avoid it in future and also provided some sort of compensation. It is a pity that Vodacom has to deal with the issues brought on by sneaky sharks that trick us into subscribing to content services without our knowledge or alleging we have.

Hopefully, the future will see some sort of password or SMS to confirm these services.

Thank you, RJ for your help!
