Conning the Customer

Vodashops in Durban have advertises a Samsung Freestyle projector as an add on. It was advertised in the December 2023 brochure but l contacted two stores and both said , the supplier did not have stock. To my horror the same product was again advertised in the January 2024 brochure. Guess what, the stores excuse was the supplier does not have stock. I contacted the person in charge of the Vodashops in Durban and her explanation was firstly that the supplier was out of stock. Secondly the supplier did not allocate enough stock for the promotion because they have other service providers to satisfy as well. Finally she said that the product may have a fault and Samsung will be replacing it with a new model in February. Contacted Samsung sales department and they are not aware of stock shortage or faulty product apart from the usual unforeseen fault. Samsung , if you read this, Vodacom has made you to look *********** to honour an advert. Surely there's a paper trail to a promotion like this. Who signs off a deal with a few items to supplier. Government has had it's fair share to make us the consumers look like fools and now it's the turn of the co- orperate giants. Think it's time to cut ties with Vodacom , after over 15 years. Samsung, after what l was told about this product, l will be looking for another brand. While l'm at it, it took Vodacom over four hours and 6 to 8 calls later to authorise an upgrade.
