'Conned' side of the coin

To whom it may concern,

I have been a Vodacom customer since I was a student. Upon embarking on a professional career path my contract with them was upgraded. Somewhere along the line I received an early upgrade at which point I was left to think it was a perk for being such a loyal customer. Alas much to my horror I discovered that it would be a financial burden when I so desperately needed a new phone last year June 2015 (which would've been my end of contract of 24 months I signed initially).

After many fightss and other more pressing issues i abandoned the fight and begrudgingly continued paying a contract I thought was done. They scored more than R12 000 extra from me. How is that fair from a consumer protection perspective? Their failure to probably communicate this wronlgy 'perceived 'benefit'.

Am I disgruntled?Yes, very much so... Would I like some justice to be served?Yes, but my hope lies in you to protect us, the consumers who are more often then not left on the bitterside of the 'con' coin. Is there any legal recourse I can pursue?

Yours sincerely
Candice Potgieter
