Confusion and let down

Hi There.

I have app**** for a contract with Vodacom this week for the new Huawei P20 Pro. I was contacted by a sales person to finalize the order and all was good. I realized the next day that I ordered the wrong colour and called in to find out if I can change it. The lady advised that I will be able to do it, she cancelled my order and processed the new order. I was called later that day for the confirmation of the order and told that it would be delivered today or at the lastest Friday. Today I called Vodacom to find out when my phone would be delivered today if they could track it, to my supprize I was told that there is no order for me. Naturally being confused I asked for the lady who helped my yesterday to give me a call. I have not yet heard from her. Today at half past 11 my package arrived, understandably I was happy. I opened the box and saw it was the Black P20 Pro (the one I ordered first). I called Vodacom immediately to find out whats happening, and they told me that they are now going to come pick it up as this phone wont work as the contract was cancelled, I asked if they cannot just reactivate the card as the phone is here and it will be fine even though it's not my preferred colour, she said that this is not at all possible (which is kind of rediculouse to me) and that they will pick it up soon. I then asked her to look for the other colour that I ordered and was told that it is on backorder and they don't know when it will arrive. So now I am sitting with the phone I want that I can't have, and not knowing when I will receive this new phone as it is out of stock. On top of that I need to be at the address when they deliver the phone and they can't tell me when this will be, I am in Joburg next week on conference and was told that if they SMS me for delivery I must call them to arrange alternative delivery or date. I have not even started my contract at Vodacom and this is a VERY bad way to start off, making me wonder if I shouldn't rather look at a different provider. I hope someone will eventually be able to help me and sort out this mess as I left my current provider to find myself in this mess.

Regards Roelof
