Confused

If it was possible to give less than 0 I would. So here is what happened. I went on maternity leave in 2019. I called them to inform them if there was a way to put it on hold, as I would not be getting any maternity benefits, and of course the answer was no. I have to buy out the rest of the contract term, which equated to something like R16000. Not sure why contract rules don't allow for this, especially now during this pandemic and everyone has it rough. Early 2020 the account was blocked, which means it could not be used. I am currently in a better financial position and I had a look at what was happening on that account today. According to the statement I now owe R23000. I also noticed that since 2020, I have been invoiced every month, even though the line is not being used.

That contract period has long ended and not active. I understand paying for the remainder contract owing, but why invoice for services not rendered and a contract that has lapsed? I was told by the consultant that they will keep billing me until the R23k is paid in full and line will not be active.

Vodacom can be sure that I am done with them, after over 20 years as a loyal customer
