******** CONDUCT BY VODACOM

My contract with Vodacm expired in March 2023. I cancelled my contract on 1 July 2024. The lady who answered the phone (***) had much to say but said that if I don’t receive their SMS to confirm the contract is canceled, it is not canceled. After multiple phone call requests and explaining and begging, Vodacom simply ignore me and keep my number ‘hostage’. I need them to release me from their grip as I want to make use of the Capitec Bank offer to buy airtime and data bundles through Capitec, which is my personal bank. Background: Phoned again 31 July 2024. Spoke to one Rajesh? who did not accept my request for cancellation. Eventually he said if I agree to a three month deal of R28.00 a month starting September and ending 30 November my contract will be cancelled. I phoned on 4 November 2024 spoke to M Xolisi, and received a SMS stating: You have successfully opted out of your monthly recurring Whatsapp Ticket 1GB @20% Discount Ticket. You can still enjoy your current ticket until 2024-11-30. Today the 2nd December I found Vodacom is still keeping my number ***) as if I am still on contract with them. I am very disappointed and frustrated.

Reviewer Update
4 December 2024. I received a phone call from an agent yesterday. She promised to get back to me once she had successfully cancelled my contract as requested. Not heard from her since. Didn’t get her name or a reference number. Still no progress
