Completely let down by Vodacom and Iphone

On Friday, 5th July, my handset was ******. Immediately after, I requested my husband to search for it, but he couldn't trace the handset because the "Find My iPhone" feature was switched off. We also attempted to call my number, but it went straight to voicemail. We then contacted Vodacom and requested them to blacklist the handset. However, by the next day, even after the SIM swap was completed (after 19:00), the handset was still not blacklisted.

What horrified me was that the ***** could continuously access my handset and read the WhatsApp messages I sent from another number to my own number. This made me question the effectiveness of the security features I had enabled on my iPhone, such as facial recognition and the password. If these features can't prevent unauthorized access, what is their purpose?

Adding to my frustration, my insurance with Vodasure shocked me with a pay-in request of R8300 for a replacement handset, which I find ridiculous. How do they justify that amount? Furthermore, since my contract was concluded in March, I had been inquiring with Vodacom consultants about retaining the same package at a lower rate since I owned my handset. None of the consultants disclosed to me that there is a package available with the same deal but without a handset included. It wasn't until I spoke to Justice at the Fourways Mall branch that I learned about this option.

While I have now renewed my contract through Justice, I am quite disappointed with the Vodacom sales consultants. They never offer this option and instead suggest limited plans with lower minutes at unfavorable rates. It seems that the salespeople are more focused on making money rather than providing good and ethical customer service by offering solutions that meet clients' needs. This experience has left me with a very bitter taste and a reduced trust in Vodacom's salespeople.

After over 20 years with Vodacom, I feel my business is not valued, and the salespeople still try to extract more money. Overall, I feel profoundly let down by both iPhone and Vodacom.
