Complete Incompetence from Vodacom, Yet Again...

On 16 May, I erroneously made a payment to Vodacom Debtors instead of Vodacom (Pty) Ltd. This was a simple mistake on my part and I immediately made Vodacom aware of this issue. Despite numerous requests to transfer this payment from Vodacom debtors and credit to the correct account this has not transpired, even though numerous consultants have assured me this would be done. This has been an ongoing problem for nearly 3 months, that Vodacom do not seem to be able to fix (or do not care enough to fix), even though I have been a paying customer for over 20 years. I am at a loss to understand why such transfer of the credit is so difficult to attend to yet audacious reminders to pay the “arrears” shown due to Vodacom not crediting the account continue. Even worse, I keep getting threats that my service (that I have and continue to pay for) will be suspended through no fault of my own.

I have tried being patient, but hope that posting this on a public platform will finally illicit action to rectify such a simple problem. I even resorted to sending an email to the Vodacom CEO, though will probably not ever receive a response. I am very aware this email is probably not going to achieve anything but I am desperate and running out of options. Should Vodacom even respond to this post, they should please not send me generic responses reminding me of how important customer service is to Vodacom, as this has clearly been demonstrated to be an outright lie. Rather take the appropriate action and fix the issue!

A consultant did contact me and gave me the same assurance that this would be attended to. The Executive Client Liaison Officer of the CEO's Office sent me an email telling me that the problem had been sorted out. This has once again turned out to be an empty promise, as there is still no change in my account, and I am still receiving harassing text messages and phone calls threatening the suspension of my service. This is honestly disgusting service and once this issue does get sorted out (perhaps after much frustration) I am going to be changing service providers.
