Complete Apathy

First Issue

A year ago my husband and I bought a new house in Durban North. After a year of marking the previous owners accounts with RTS and posting them back to Vodacom we were still receiving the previous owners accounts. I decided to go to a Vodacom branch and resolve the matter directly. After explaining myself to a gentleman in the store He informed me He cannot change any address but has to be done by head office. He can only do it if they have permission of the account holder. Obviously I do not have this address myself and I explained it is up to Vodacom to find out the new address. I then handed the post over and said well open the account and phone the client and you can change the details. I was then informed they may not open a clients mail. So eventually I opened the mail and gave him the number to phone. He then phoned the previous owner and made me wait until he could get through to change the address. The owner then said he would come in to change it.............

........So guess what? I am still receiving the account statements.

What is the point of the rica process when you go out of the way to help them to update their records for somebody else yet no effort is made on their part to get their house in order.

Second issue

I also have a vodacom account. On the back of their invoice envelopes it says "GO PAPERLESS AND SAVE TREES". You must SMS a number 31109 with detals at a charge of 50c and they will email you statements in the future. I got no confirmation of this service. I still get a paper invoice. While in the shop on the first matter I asked them to change my details to get the paperless service..............Aparently it was changed..........Guess what I am still getting my account in the mail.

Clearly Vodacom has got to big to be able to control the simple things.

Ok Vodacom Consumer Websites,
3 Months latter and the post is still coming for both myself and the previous owner..............
It seems you must have staff shortages for it to take this long to resolve a simple matter. The trees keep dying in the meantime........
