Complaint: Vodacom - Damaged Phone During Repair

I'm writing to report a frustrating experience with Vodacom Mayville. I brought my phone in for a charging issue, but when it was returned, it came back in a worse state with a cracked screen. The phone was damaged during the repair process, and I'm extremely dissatisfied with the lack of accountability and progress in resolving the issue.

Initially, I decided to leave the phone with them as they acknowledged the mistake and promised to fix it. However, it's been over a month, and despite numerous follow-ups, there's been no progress. The team keeps saying they're working on it, but I'm yet to see any tangible results. Now, they're asking to quote me for the repair, which is unacceptable given the circumstances.

I'm seeking Hello Peter's assistance in getting this matter resolved. I want Vodacom to either repair my phone to its original condition or replace it with a new one. I'm not willing to accept further delays or excuses.

I wrote a review on Hello Peter about the poor service I received from Vodacom, and to my surprise, they promised to call me to discuss the issue. That was on Friday, and it's now Monday. NOT A SINGLE CALL. I'm still waiting to hear from them about the problems I've been experiencing with my phone, that they broke. The lack of follow-through is disappointing and unprofessional. Vodacom, if you're going to promise to call, at least have the decency to follow through. I'm still waiting.

I have been waiting for feedback for with no communication from the Vodacom team. I recieved a call from a Vodacom consultant asking if I got my phone back as it was sent to the Mayville store on the 7th of June. On Saturday 14th of June I went there to check if there is any progress on the issue and they said the matter is at Vodacom’s head office a the phone is not back yet.

This just shows that thee phone is not fixed yet and I want my phone fixed. I do not know who will be taking accountability for the damages but someone from Vodacom had to. This also shows that not only am I receiving lack of communication from the Vodacom team as to what has to be done about my phone, but there is a lack of communication amongst the Vodacom team in itself
