Complaint Upgrade

I am writing to formally express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding my recent experience with your upgrade department and Vodacom as a whole.

I have been a loyal Vodacom customer since 1999, and throughout this time I have maintained my account responsibly as much as I could Although I am currently under debt review, my Vodacom account is fully paid up to date. Despite this, I have been informed that I am not eligible for an upgrade solely because of my debt review status.

Recently, our phones were ******, and we are currently forced to borrow devices. This situation has placed significant strain on us, and the inability to upgrade has only made matters worse. What is particularly upsetting is that, after numerous calls to your customer service department, no one has been willing or able to assist me or provide a reasonable solution. I have been passed from one consultant to another without resolution.

I feel this treatment is unfair, especially considering my long-standing loyalty of over 25 years and feel like im just a number to vodacom. I respectfully request that my case be reviewed individually and not be judged solely on my debt review status. Even after I emailed the complaints department nothing was done not even a phone call no follow up. So even if they should reply here nothing will happen. Considering their low score you would think they would do something. They will end up like Dstv and then only will they wonder why.

I am going to cancel all 4 of my contracts with them since 3 is ready for upgrade. They will never see me again.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. Feedback from valued clients like yourself helps us identify opportunities to improve our service and processes.

As a financial services provider, we are required to conduct thorough credit checks for any new contracts or upgrades. In line with industry standards and the regulations of the National Credit Act (NCA), we are unable to approve new services for customers who are currently under debt review.

This measure is in place to ensure we do not place customers under additional financial strain and to support responsible credit practices. Once your debt review status has been cleared by your Debt Counsellor and updated with the credit bureaus, you will be welcome to apply again.

Consumer Website Team
