Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Behavior of Customer Call Centre Agent

Dear Vodacom

My mobile number: ***

I am writing to inform you about my dissatisfaction with the service I received from one of your customer call centre agents on 3 June 2024 at about 08:03 am. The purpose of my call was to return a call to Vodacom regarding the status of my new mobile contract application, and I was connected with an agent who did not identify herself. I called from my mobile number, ***, so she could be easily traced.

During the call, the agent's behaviour was far below the standard I expect from Vodacom. Specifically, I encountered the following issues:

Rudeness: From the beginning of the conversation, the agent’s tone was hostile and unfriendly. Her manner of speaking made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.

Lack of Courtesy: The agent did not use polite language or basic courtesies typically expected in customer service interactions.

Impatience: The agent seemed unwilling to listen to my concerns fully and repeatedly interrupted me. This gave the impression that my issue was not important to her.

Condescending Attitude: Throughout the call, the agent spoke to me condescendingly, which was both unhelpful and disrespectful.

Call Dropped Prematurely: During the conversation, the agent abruptly ended the call without resolving my issue or offering further assistance. The call was dropped on purpose, as there was no technical issue from my end.

This experience is highly frustrating and disappointing. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and professionalism. The behaviour of this agent not only failed to address my concern but also left me feeling undervalued as a customer.

I would like you to look into this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action to ensure these incidents do not recur. Also, I would appreciate your follow-up about the steps taken to address this issue and resolve my original concern.

Resolution: I would like the call centre agent to call me and apologise.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Yours sincerely, Loyal Vodacom customer who is applying for a new mobile contract
