COMPLAINT RE; POOR SERVICE

My boyfriend has two cellphone contract with your service. His account gets debited every month for R407 ( for both contracts, ********** and ********** ) never missing a payment. He was satisfied with your service and never had any complaints.

Until, his job recently made him a permanent employee resulting in his salary dates being changed now from the last 4 working days of the month to the 15 of every month. Myself and Keenan, went to the Vodacom store in Cape Gate and he requested that the debit order be changed as his salary date has changed. He was assisted and the consultant confirmed that it had been changed. Confirming that May payment will be deducted on the 15 May, 2017.

On the 15 May, he was notified by his bank that Vodacom had deducted double (R914) the normal payment of R407. He then called Vodacom Customer care and spoke to Zodwa, her saying that he had to pay for the beginning of May and end of May. Then called on a later day again and this person said he now missed a payment in March. How can they say this when he hasn't missed payments? Even if he did he was never notified that he had missed a payment and the contracts were not suspended which happens when no payment is made. He got the run around, he got told he must visit your store then the store consultants tells him he should phone customer care. Which was such an inconvenience, wasting his time on an error that was NOT his fault!

He is also due for an upgrade and was excited to get his new phone but on arriving at your store in Zevenwacht Mall, yesterday, he was again told that his account is in arrears. How can this be when he is debited monthly for the contracts and then you people still deducted double?

He has received the most pathetic service ever from a company he has supported for more than 2 years and you people proclaiming to be SA's best Network. I trust that this is not the way Vodacom wishes to conduct business with a valued customer.

If this problem is not rectified and I do not hear from you, I will lodge a formal complaint with the Consumer Commission as well as The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa.
