Complaint of ***** by VODACOM on my Account

I have been a Vodacom subscriber for many years . 1 was due for my upgrade . 1 went to the La Lucia branch on the 15th June 2017 & signed a new contract. A sim swop ,as usual, was done and I was awaiting the normal 2 hour period for it to be complete. This, however did not happen,as I had no network connection after this sim swop.l addressed this with Angela ,the store manager on the morning of the 16June2017 Angela picked up a status saying "*****" on my account. She also picked up that there was online activity (of further sim swops) that occurred during the evening of the 15th June 2017. The individual doing the online unauthorized sim swop on my account is named Letlaper. The store manager tried to assist by contacting Vodacom ***** department, etc to no avail. The response from the support network Angela was using was appalling . On the 21 June my account was reinstated.

My horror continues, on the 5 July 2017 my mobile service was disconnected again. I proceeded back to la Lucia branch. The same as above occurred.

Manager confirmed the status of my account as refelected as **********. Reason again unutherised Online sim swop, person recorded this time was Ludido. Once again the indivuals could not be confirmed. I was notified by Angela that my bill Amounted to R158,719.46. I was advised to obtain a police affidavit and my query was being attended to. Thereafter I made numerous attempts to have my account status rectified and an explanation as to the bill amount. To date Vodacom have not explained how it is possible for my mobile account to be accessed without my consent.

The bill miraculously was credited without any correspondence from Vodacom. Angela reassured me after my numerous complaints and a copy of my sworn affidavit that she had spoken to Skhumbuzo who presumably deals with ***** claims that the matter was resolved. My account was reinstated for a short while.

24 July 2017, I was on a business trip and could not make any out going calls. Once again my account was compromised . I was totally inconvienced as I was unable to contact family or arrange my travel itinerary. Needless to say my first stop was right back to Angela at Vodacom la Lucia store when I landed. Again my account reflected ***** status. Again Angela reassures me she is dealing with Skhumbuzo. I patiently gave Vodacom time to resolve the matter. On the afternoon of the 29 July. Angela confirmed via message that my account shows active and current. She did a network synch. And confirmed there was no barring on my account. Sad to say I was still unable to make calls.

I called the call center as requested by Angela and was told that I have a limit of R4000 for outgoing calls and my bill was sitting at R 15752.29.

Firstly I have never arranged for a limit to be put on my account and my bill 99% of the time is under a thousand rand.

To receive the two bills of R-+R ********** & -/+R15000 leaves me speakless and unnecessary stressed] have had no joy from the ***** department, call center and Vodacom on the whole.l thank Angela for her assistance thus far but I am totally dissatisfied as my query still remains unresolved .

I am still out of service but getting billed daily for ludicrous amounts.

The reason for posting my dissatisfaction is in the hope that Vodacom will take action ASAP.I can be contacted on my mobile number ********** 639 as I can only receive calls .Very stressed and dissatisfied long standing customer.

Mrs B Fynn
