Complaint

Hello Peter

We live in Saxonwold Drive, Saxonwold and have been suffering for some years with dropped calls, both in and out. Although the matter was reported to Vodacom many times over the years, they promised an improvement, which never materialised. To overcome the problem we obtained a Telkom fixed line for a period. Recently, due to a power failure and the Wi-Fi not functioning, we tried to contact City Power, but even outside the house the signal kempt disappearing. I contacted Vodacom Customer Care and after speaking to three people I was assured the matter would be investigated and a solution found.

On Friday the 5th July, a person names Lena Field tried to contact me at 18h05. The phone never rang and I subsequently received an SMS stating that she would contact me on Sunday 7th July 2024, during the “course of the day”. This never materialised and I received a further SMS stating that I would be contacted on Monday the 8th July. I received a further communication from a person named Thulani who asked for an alternate number, one they already had. The email address I was given – “vcontractor.co.za” did not work.

The promised 8th July call ended up with my wife in her Parktown North office, she explained the problem but was met with some ‘attitude’ rather than helpfulness. My wife contacted a few neighbours and found that they have similar problems.

I will leave this matter in abeyance awaiting any possible solution.
