Had my Vodacom Sim for over 20 years and today after work, saw my whatsapp not working, when trying to sign on there was a pop up message saying I've change phones must switch, and nothing crossed my mind up until I reached the stage where I need to receive code via sms, and couldn't receive message due to network, check network it says emergencies only. I then took my son's Vodacom client care, and they confirmed was done on my fone this afternoon, and my question is what type of security questions is Vodacom asking to make sure I'm the owner of the number? After sim swap was done those people gained access to my whatsapp contacts and start borrowing money pretendibg to be me and currently two of them already sent money to those people, and not sure how fell into that trap, and whose gonna pay those people. Lot of people are victims of this kind of negligents they loosing money even to their bank accounts and this is an ongoing things but still the providers are not doing anything about this thing no one is holding them accountable instead they blame the bank if there's money loss in their account instead of looking where the problem started Need feedback as who is responsible on paying those people it's not our fault.
