Coerced into a new contract
I am currently on a vodacom subscription as of 13/11/2020 paying R189 monthly for a Samsung A11 phone. I took up insurance for an extra R70 which I then went to cancel in May or June at the Welkom branch because they did not fix my phone when it needed a software update. My phone's insurance has still not been cancelled. On 24 November 2021 I recieved a call from a vodacom consultant whose name I can't recall, who basically coerced me into upgrading my current contract into one that is going to cost me an extra R180. I explained to her that I cannot afford to upgrade my current subscription at the moment to which she basically told me I had no choice because Vodacom was no longer going to provide service to the plan I already am on. I had no choice but to agree to it but I just did not feel right about how the consultation was conducted as well as why I was not alerted about the new migration earlier, or before I took up the contract. I then contacted Vodacom on their twitter page but was unable to get assistance their reason was: "The information provided does not match the details we have on record. Regrettably, we will no longer be able to assist you on this platform any longer."
Unfortunately I have not been able to visit a branch due to the nature of the work that I do, please assist me in getting this matter resolved. I would like assistance with cancellation of the insurance as well as reverting back to my original price plan.
Thank you
