Clueless about Roaming

When it comes to travel roaming services, Vodacom just hasn't a clue. The bottom line now, when I'm overseas, is that the international roaming I supposedly activated is not activated. The history behind this seems to show that Vodacom has no idea what it is doing when it comes to roaming. First of all, when I called the call centre to ask them how to activate full roaming, they told me to sms TRAVELON to the number 123 one hour before I left. I'd used this number to activate sms roaming when traveling before and received a message that this number was no longer is use and to use another number. So this time, I checked with the call centre that 123 really was the number. The person on the other end said it was. Well, it wasn't. And this time I didn't get an alternate number to sms. I was told to call the call centre. So I did. The person on the end assured me that roaming was activated. It isn't. Now I want to pay a staff member. And guess what, my one time password gets sent to me by sms! I have emailed Vodacom's customer care, but had no response. Evidently they don't care. I've had problems with sms roaming before, where it worked for a day and then stopped. Vodacom was unable to help then too.

Someone had contacted me, but not with anything helpful. A promise to do something about it. But nothing thereafter.
