Closed Autopage Contract Resurrected by Vodacom

It seems Altech Autopage handed my closed contract with them to Vodacom when they closed down. I was notified early 2016 ove a call that I owe just over R200 by a Vodacom representative. I notified the person that the contract in question had lapsed further to that I sent an email to the legal department as advised on the 20th of July 2016. I was instructed to send an affidavit together with a copy of my ID with three signatures attesting to the above, which I did. On the 28th of November 2017 I received an email forwarded from najima Moosa of bytes shared services who was requested by a vodacom representative to ssist. The email read "We only pick up that a retention was cancelled but no request for the line to be cancelled completely", and it was forwarded by someone whose vodacom email signature is "VSP". I responded that I did not understand the meaning of the email and required clarification for the email. A response to my request was that I should contact the number in the bytes shared services signature which I tried several times and the number wasn't working and having alerted "VSP" that the number wasn't working I was told to try again.

The amount owed to Vodacom was not much and at the time I was considering having a similar contract for which I could have just continued with Vodacom, but for it is a matter of principle. We cannot be bul**** into contracts we did not sign or that have lapsed. So even if I could have continued with Vodacom at the time I would have signed a complete new contract, but not continue with a ********** one handed over by a company who knew that they wouldn't be held liable for their ***** once they close. I am annoyed at Vodacom's dealing with this because they don't seem to care about my reality, this is demostrated by continuos responses I receive from an email without a name or contact number.

When I checked my credit record early this year I noted that they have put the owing amount in the credit bereau of over R2000. For me the amount is the real issue, but the principle that big business think that can just bully civilians around just because they can.

My simple request is that Vodacom close that account because it is not mine and remove the account from my credit record immediately.
