Claiming R135 after my account was closed almost a year ago.
So, I struggled to get my VC contract transferred to pay as you go, in order to port to mtn. Eventually, after lodging a complaint on HelloPeter, i was sorted and could eventually port to MTN, which I must say with fingers crossed, is a better experience.
However, after almost a year, never getting a call, no invoice or anything, I get a email claiming I owe them R135.
Take note: 1. My payments were deducted previously by means of debit order. 2. The last invoice to settle my account to move to pay as you go were something like R26, and was a zero balance. 3. They allowed my transfer to pay as go as well as my port to mtn despite the R135 they now claim.
I requested that they send me a statement of my account, but I only get a reply that it is outstanding money from my contract.
Now they say they will blacklist me. It almost feels like a ****. Of course they never make it easy to contact them.

I am not happy that I had to publicly vent my frustration as it is not the way like to settle disputes. However, this is the second time in a year that I had to do this with Vodacom in les than a year, both times getting results.
I immediately reacted to the initial letter of demand, a “Draft Summons” to be exact. As a officer and public servant I take threats like these seriously. I simply requested a detailed account, but received a half baked answer a week thereafter without what I requested. I could not directly reply to that e-mail. The indirect methods of communication that Vodacom and other companies use, is not effective to me and prevents me from getting closure at a time that is convenient to me.
I hope VC can learn from the above.
