Choose a Title that Befits Your Actions Vodacom

So, I'm going to try and keep this real simple...

I am presently on pre-paid with Vodacom after buying out my contract with MTN to go to a seemingly better network. So far, I had no problems with Vodacom and event went as far as attempting to get a contract... By the way, this is the second time I tried to get a contract through Vodacom - the first time, I was told I couldn't afford it, yet I was earning triple the minimum salary amount and had a squeaky clean record (Vodacom's complaint was ironically that I did not have enough debt) and that's when I went to MTN, who offered me 2 contracts... This time, armed with a better salary than that time, I tried again. Yes, Vodacom like every other place on this planet, will define a person by their so-called 'credit' status and by all means, but don't waste my time asking all these questions (bank account number, job title, address, contact details and what ever the hell else takes up 15 minutes of your work day) just to not even bother calling back with a 'thanks, but no thanks', because that's just backwards. By the way Vodacom, your consultant even said that many other customers have complained about your backward process.

Here's a tip: Tell us we qualify / don't qualify and based on whether it's the former or the latter, either proceed with the application or, here's an idea, don't proceed. There's 1 minute of a person's time wasted if they're given the boot, but at least one gets an answer before providing you with a bunch of information that you're eventually and probably going to sell off to a third party, who will eventually call me trying to sell pet insurance and rainbow unicorns that can tell the weather [cue POPI Act 4 of 2013] .

Here's the part that led to this review on Hello Peter: I spend about R400 of my hard-earned money to buy data... 5GB of beautiful data to use on whatever I choose and since using the internet is part of everyone's lives, that pretty much indicates where my data goes; emails, Google, Facebook, YouTube... The usual culprilts you know? But hey, Vodacom decided that since I hadn't used up 2GB on MY data by the end of July that they would just reach into MY phone, my PRE-PAID phone, and take it because it's only mine for 30 days... Okay, so is this the part where you compensate me for the data I PAID FOR? No, because Vodacom is the honeybadger... As far as I understand, if I pay for something, it's mine, it belongs to me. I don't see Pick 'n Pay coming to my house and taking all my unused groceries back (which, again, I PAID for) or my employer reaching into my bank account and taking any unused salary (ya'll just sound sill now don't you?). Not even Telkom stoops that low... So that is the part that really grated my cheese with Vodacom... You throw me to the curb when I ask for a contract, with not so much as an 'I'll call you later' (a one-night stand seems more dignified right now) and then you take my PAID for data... I know, I know, you're not the only network to rip people off with their data, but I'm not with any other network - I chose Vodacom, because this is still the lesser of the 4 evils, but eventually one gets gatvol of feeling like just another binary digit...

My rant is over... Here's a summary:

1. Stop wasting people's time with backward application processes only to let them down just because everything is based on what society says a person is worth (there are 2 sides to every story)...

2. Stop taking the data I PAID for and if you do, at least have the courtesy to give me the money for that which you take, because I had to take out that same money to get the same data that was taken from me... Here's another tip: Extend your data period... You'll still get loads of money from people, but at least it would be more legit - now won't that make ya'll sleep better at night?
