Check stock levels - Informed that there is no stock after order.

Seeing as I already have a contract with Vodacom for many years (not always a pleasant experience, but the devil you know...) I placed an order for a new device/line on the account. Upon ordering the deal telephonically via their ********** number, I was informed that the handset I wanted was out of stock. Thokozile then offered to check the stock of other handsets and once I heard back from her I accepted her recommendation for the Huawei P10 light in sapphire blue. After the order was processed and confirmed I waited on deliver. After the original delivery date came and went I made contact with Vodacom to inquire as to when I can expect the handset. It was only then that I was informed that they do not have stock. I am unsure what the point was of changing the original order for a device that is "in-stock" if it is also out of stock. I am also very disappointed that no one at Vodacom bothered to let me know that there is a delay in delivery. I can understand that unforeseen issues may arise as far as procurement/deliveries go, but I can simply not accept no bothered to inform me.
