Charged for a canceled contract. Collections have now given me 7 days to settle.

I took out my second contract with Vodacom around August 2016, with my first being in July 2015. I assumed my first contract would end around August 2017 and I would no longer be charged for it but I was corrected by one of the consultants, who told me I had to call to cancel my account, which I later did.

My contract was not canceled. I kept getting billed even though I'd call every month trying to cancel. Earlier this year, my account went into arrears and they promised legal action against me if I did not settle my account. I went into the store, made a call to Vodacom from one of the store's consultants phone. I explained my situation, telling them I wouldn't pay for my first contract because I had made arrangements to cancel but they kept sending me airtime I didn't ask for and required I pay for it. He told me that he'd investigate my account, go through call logs made from any of my Vodacom contract phones to see if I had indeed made arrangements. He told me I would get refunded for the payments I made after I had canceled if they found anything. I paid my second contract in store but not my first one, because an investigation had been open for it. He told me he'd call after 7 work days to give me feedback but he didn't.

I called after 13 days, asking for Klientjie - the consultant who said he'd call - but they told me he was away. I spoke to a consultant, explaining my situation and she told me she had logged a new claim in my name because the claim logged by Kleintjie was apparently invalid. I went to a Vodafone store about 2 months later to make payments and I discovered that instead of the +- R1 161 I last saw in my statement, I was required to pay +- R350. I paid in full. The next month, I was required to pay around R17 for the Subscription Charges only! To my surprise last month, I received an email telling me I owed money for both contracts!!!!!! BOTH!!!! Again!!! I went to Vodacom and canceled my second contract cause it has been two years and I told them I had actually canceled my first contract. They said they'd look into it. Guess what? I received an email from collections on the 14th of this month, informing me that I have to pay my account within 7 days. But I am not going to pay for something I literally canceled over a year ago. Are you kidding me? Sort it out, please.

You guys said you'd call. You haven't.
