Changing debit order banking details without my input

Sometime during August 2016 Vodacom changed my debit order banking details (it has been the same bank account for the last 15 years or so...) without my input, and without informing me.

After requesting them to change the details back to the original info (which thank god they managed), I requested clarity regarding how this was even possible, and I also requested a formal communication from Vodacom explaining how this change was allowed without any input from me.

It took them two weeks to finally excalate the issue on 16 November 2016 (ref 1- ********** 6635), and I received a text message on 18 November 2016 stating that the query had been closed. No-one had even bothered getting in touch with me before then...

I contacted Vodacom on the same day, trying to find out what the resolution was and why the ticket was closed. They had to investigate...

I contacted Vodacom again on 22 November, at which point my query was once again escalated (ref 1- ********** 9482).

Since that day, I have had a sum total of two calls from Vodacom (just customer care trying to find out why I was not satisfied with my query resolution). Per my phone records, I have made 19 phone calls to 111 over the last three weeks (total talk time in excess of five hours), being passed around from one department to another (I have spoken to Customer Care, Solutions, Customer Retentions, Legal, etc.) and without anyone actually getting back to me with a resolution. Loads of agents and team leads and others have made promises of follow-up and feedback, but I have yet to receive one of these promised communications.

I have vented my frustration on social media but had no resolution on that side either, despite numerous promises.

I was told to send my complaint emails to ********** (no response to date), then I had to send the same to ********** (no response to date), so I am no longer sure how I go about resolving this issue.
