Cellphone Insurance

I ported my MTN number to Vodacom as I was experiencing such bad service that I thought the grass was greener on the other side. I got a new contract with Vodacom when I ported the number and I signed the documents to get insurance with cellsure. At the beginning of July I accidentally dropped my phone and the screen cracked and the charger didnt want to connect properly.

I took the screen in for repairs to Vodacom in Cresta Shopping Mall, just to find out that the insurance papers were never sent through to cellsure from Vodacom in Fourways Mall (where I took out the contract)

The manager at Cresta told me that it depends from shop to shop - some staff members just dont follow up on the insurance documents that get sent through and he said that it depends on the shop manager - if the shop manager is managing his staff correctly, then the work gets done. The Manager at Cresta handled the matter very well, but its a poor excuse for staff that dont do their work!

Vodacom and Cellsure should put a better system in place for their customers to complete documents for insurance. I have to pay R2000 for the repairs because someone neglected to do their job. Shocking.

Thank you for your email.
Just a note that its not the first time I have experienced this with Vodacom.
The last time our company contracts were blocked/softlocked because the Vodacom Store "lost" our documents that we dropped off in order to update the debit order details for payment.... and not just once, TWICE!
