Cell number***) is deleted by vodacom

When setting my vodacom email address, i used the number ***. Today i just realise that my emails do not open and I called vodacom customer care at around 5h40am, and i was told that this number has been deleted by vodacom and there is nothing they can do. This really surprised me as am a royal customer of vodacom and in 2013 i had the same problem but the guy i talked to managed to retrieve the number and my emails were restored, he just advised me that i should buy airtime and recharge the number.
