Cat and mouse

On Tuesday, 28 June 2016, I received a call from Elite Mobile who provided me with a few options to upgrade a contract that is expiring in August 2016. After much persuasion, I agreed to do an upgrade my current package. The delivery, according to the representative was due in the next 3 - 5 working days. In the next two days I was called by another person from the same company to confirm delivery address and contact numbers. Needless to say, I never received the package! On Monday, 4 July 2016 is called Elite Mobile to cancel the upgrade due to not receiving the upgrade package. I was then given a tracking number from them for the courier company RAM. Upon calling RAM, I was informed that Vodacom have provided them with insufficient details and therefore the package never went out for delivery. I was then told by RAM that I have to reverse the upgrade, and advised me to reverse the upgrade with Vodacom. I then phoned Vodacom on the number provided ( ********** ) to reverse the upgrade, but was then informed that I could only do so in 3 days time, which would be by 8 July, as the package had be returned to Vodacom and scanned back into Vodacom stock system before cancellation can take place. Nevertheless, I gave it time and called back on Monday, 11 July to follow through on reversing the upgrade. This became a complete nightmare, as the one operator would answer, ask and confirm details, just to pass the call from one section to another, with calls being dropped inbetween. I finally ended up with a Celeste Steenkamp, who indicated that she can assist and once again confirmed the relevant details, with a promise to reverse the upgrade. She even requested a number that she could call to comfirm the completion of the transaction. She never called. Today, 12 July I decided to check the status of the upgrade for piece of mind, just to discover that the upgrade was never reversed. I once again called where I was met with a few rude people, who just drops the call when they do not want to deal with it, also, when asked their names for reference purpose, they refused to give details, saying it is against company policy. How can Vodacom treat its customers like this? I have been given a few numbers to call, but none of the staff is able to assist and insist on passing the buck, playing cat and mouse, this, while our monies pay their salaries?
