Carefull for telephone upgrades of Vodacom contracts

On 17 Oct 2023, I received a call from a Vodacom Agent. The lady informed me that that my contract with Vodacom is ending end of May 2024 and that I am legible for up grade. I explained that I was quite happy with my present contracts and that we intend to immigrate early next year and I don't want to be locked into an extended contract. She argued that if I want to cancel, there will be a cancellation fee. On my question approx. how much, she could not answer. I was very hesitant to conclude the deal. I asked her for an e-mail describing the conditions of the contracts before I agree, and she promised to send it soon. I have not received anything yet. On 19 Oct '23 a courier pitched up at my house with 2 Kicka phones. I was surprized because I never agreed to the upgrade and I requested Vodacom to listen to the recording to satisfy themselfes, that I did not agree to the phone upgrade. I wrote an e-mail to Vodacom:- "Sir, I don't want the phones which I have not ordered and I am quite happy to live with the expired contracts. Kindly cancel all arrangements with the "new" contract for the following reasons:- 1. The lady said I have 14 days to decided to continue with the contract or not and I can cancel if I am not happy. 2. I did not receive what I expected. I did not understand I will receive 2 phones and no modem. 3. I understood I will receive a HUAWEI modem that's all and I was reasonably happy with the terms on this specific proposal. 3. The promised e-mail contract documentation has not been received as promised. In my attempts to revesed back to my original contract, I wrote 4 mails, visit the Port Alfres vodacom branch 4times and got 3 promises from Vodacom personell that the matter is escalated and I will be hearing witing 3 days that the situation is rectified. First promise 30/01/24, second 7/02/24, third was on 16/02/24. I decided to revert to Hello Peter for assistance.
