Cape Gate Vodacom 4U Store & Management

Related to Cape Gate Vodacom 4U Store & Management. Signed up for a contract phone advertised in their July booklet on Friday 29 August'22 (4 days ago). Like most customers, I did plenty of research on the phone specifications and what I wanted before purchase. When busy setting up my new phone over the weekend, I realized the particular phone WAS NOT a Dual Sim as most phone comparison platforms & specifications indicated (Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 128GB Rom, 6GB Ram, 5020mAh Battery). Nowhere did I read or knew that certain Vodacom shops (Vodacom 4U Stores) bring in 'special imports' that differ from standard spec advertised all over the internet. Nor did their advertising booklet or fine print therein or the box with serial number mentioned anything that it is not a DUAL SIM phone... even while speaking with the brand representative that took me through the device features in-store while processing the sign-up. I was under the impression the phone was a DUAL SIM when I left the store. The problem - I am within my 7 days return policy as per Consumer Protection Act and Vodacom OBF Policy (although this is not a 'out-of-box' failure scenario but rather a 'not-fit-for-purpose scenario). The shop do not want to take back the new device and their intend to really assist/help me solve this dilemma is at a minimum star level. I do not wish to cancel my contract, but only need a replacement device as per specifications indicated all over the internet else a similar device with the relevant spec. I'm sure a respectable and fair solution can be negotiated with senior/regional management and/or the store owner. I will keep this thread open until such time the problem is resolved.
