Cant port from Vodacom

I am unable to port out of Vodacom, as per the representative from their porting department the other network needs to submit the port request as if I'm porting to prepaid not contract on their side.

But I am porting to a contract not prepaid so that doesn't make any sense. I just spend a lot of money buying myself out of this contract now I can't port anyway. Apparently I need to buy a prepaid SIM to port to, on the other network then port to contract. That is a massive waste of my time and intermittent downtime of my number for no good reason.

No way does ICASA approve of this. Ridiculous!

Yeah just FYI to the public who might run into similar issues, the "we've advised you accordingly" means you need to buy a prepaid SIM with Vodacom, then do a SIM swap, then port your number again. I will advise here if that works for me. This still sounds like unnecessary effort on the customers expense in both time and money, for something that works when you port to a Vodacom contract from other providers. Fix it Vodacom.
