Can't do a simswop

Good day,

My cellphone was ******, I got a new simcard at a cellular shop and was told to just phone vodacom they will do the simswop over the phone as my old number was Rica'd. Well no joy, put the sim in the phone, I cant phone vodacom as the sim is not rica'd. Cant make any calls on it or even try and retrieve a number on it. I really want my old number back. ********** 600 i am currently on another number.
