Can't cancel or stop service after contract ends.

I'm sitting with a Vodacom Business LTE solution that is not working for more than 2 months. It is out of contract and I still get invoiced every month with not being able to utilize the service. I stopped paying the invoices because I can't use the service and can't get in canceled via phone or business portal. Now Vodacom is telling me I need to pay for the last few months that the service was not working so that they can assist me thurther. So they want me to pay for no service and then I can cancel the service. I then receive nothing and paying for 3 months of no service. This is the way Vodacom works. They just say thanks for your payment and you will receive no service.

I still did not receive any feedback from Vodacom. I called back today and tried to cancel the service that is already out of contract and now I need to send them an email, this is suddenly the only way that you can cancel a Vodacom contract. I did send an email before and have a ticket number for the cancelation request and for more than a month I still do not get any response back and no one can assist me when I call support or accounts. Do I just stop paying as I do not get any service and the services is not working or how do Vodacom handle any of this.
