cannot speak to vodacom

Even though vodacom is in the communications business making money, it is impossible to talk to an operator or get human assistance from them.

A client's (yes i do provide service) ****le required a PUK number and she called me to assist. I put the sim card in my phone and realized the pin was blocked. She could not remember the cell number and I could not dial another phone to see what the number was. I then spent more than 30 minutes trying to contact a PERSON at vodacom. I just gave up as I was just getting nowhere with answering system and selecting options
At one stage I received an instruction to press zero for an operator, only to be returned to the start menu.

Telephones have been around for about 140 years yet Vodacom cannot answer a call. Does Vodacom really lack the intellectual capacity or do they just not want to talk toe customers. Or am I expecting too much living in a third world african country?
