I just had a horrible expierience with Vodacom after a long while.
I was phoned by Vodacom to do an upgrade. The deal sounded good and I took it. A few minutes later an SMS arrived and it said the monthly cost was double the amount that I was told it was going to be.
So I immediately phoned the Customer Care number to find out what is happening now. After going back and forth with the agent, he could not give me clarity and gave me the Online Upgrade number and said I must phone them. When I phoned the number, an automated message said that they were closed and that they will be open again the next day (today) at 9.
So I rearranged my day, set my alarm for 9, hoping to beat the queue to that number and have this whole mess sorted out.
This is where the horrible part happened!
I phoned the number, got helped quick, but when I tried to cancel the upgrade, I was told that the person who sold me the upgrade must cancel it and that he will phone me back.
This is now after I took the time to get up extra early to phone the Online Upgrade number, so that I wouldn't have to wait in a queue.
Why do I have to wait for someone to phone me back now? Why can't the customer agent that I phoned, just do the cancellation? I am the customer...I want to cancel...I phone Vodacom...and NO, they can't cancel?
I had plans for today, but now I must wait for a Vodacom agent to call me.
The only reason why I want to cancel in the first place, is because the total on the SMS and what I was told differs and no one can explain why.
Seems like it is still true, that they are quick to sell you a contract, but when you want to cancel it, they send you from pillar to post...
Unhappy Customer
