CANCELLED, CLOSED AND PAID UP ACCOUNT HANDED OVER
My Vodacom contract expired somewhere during late 2017 / early 2018 (I do not recall the exact date).
In July 2018 I gave notice of my intent to cancel said contract and I then proceeded to pay all due amounts - this includes the final invoice received a month in arrears.
During both September and November I receive 'normal 'invoices (as if the contract was still active) and I then go to Great trouble in order to confirm that my contract was indeed cancelled at the end of August 2018 and Vodacom actually owes me R12.03. I have proof of this on e-mail.
I then merrily carry on with my life... as you do.
Recently 'MBD' start harassing me at all hours (and believe me, this is the appropriate word!) both via telephone and sms seeing as my Vodacom account is in arrears etc etc etc. Obviously I contact them in confusion and am instructed to mail my final POP and invoice to ********** which I do.
No stop in the sms's & calls though so I call MBD Again only to be told that 'they can only take instruction from Vodacom as this is their client' so I have to 'sort it out with Vodacom' whom should then instruct them to close the file. I now call Vodacom and after confirming all my details (to four different agents!) I am told that 'the account has been handed over to the lawyers' so they no longer enjoy any access to it and I thus have to contact MBD.
Send Vodacom a message via their Facebook page and explain the situation. I am instructed to contact their in-house legal department. Upon calling said department I enter my details as requested and am the disconnected with an sms instructing me to contact MBD 'as the account has been handed over'.
Am I going to have to waste another 70 minutes on the phone trying to sort this out or shall I just visit a magician as the normal procedures obviously is not helping my situation.
I have now wasted an entire morning, being sent from pillar to post, had numerous calls disconnected, promises of 'call-backs' and in all honesty just shockingly shoddy service from both Vodacom and their legal representatives.
UTTERLY frustrating!
