Cancellation Request - Dispute

My contract with Vodacom ended in Jan2024 already. When I called the cancellation line to move to pay-as-you-go their Call Centre agent (Name: "Freedom") advised to move me to a TopUp. I repeatedly asked him/Freedom if I can cancel line anytime to upgrade and/or move without a penalty/cancellation fee which he confirmed as correct that no penalty/cancellation fee is due except what is due for month of TopUp. I now made contact with cancellations to port my number to another carrier only to be told I must pay a cancellation fee of R359.01 + the debit order due at Nov2024 month-end. Basically Vodacom representative **** on a sales call to get my opt-in on a payment mandate and then want to hold me liable for a value and condition never agreed on. I have requested Vodacom to refer matter to their ombudsman and send me copy of the voice mandate. All I want is Vodacom to honor and respect my cancellation and right to port without any penalty/cancellation fees due as per voice mandate agreed except for costs due or owed for month within cancellation request which I am comfortable to settle immediately...?
