Cancellation of deceased persons mobile contract

Dear Vodacom.
My brother passed away on the 09 November 2016. I had visited the Vodashop at Alberton City to notify Vodacom that he is deceased and to cancel his contract today, the 22 November, and was advise that Vodacom does not cancel contracts of deceased persons and that the contract would have to be transfered into my name and that I would have to continue paying the contract until it expires. When asked for this in writing, i was advised by the consultant that she is only an employee (I may be under correction, but does this not mean that she is supposed to assist????? Whatvis her perpose there?) and that she cannot provide me with this instruction/terms in writing but can only verbally provide assistance. When asked to speak to the manager or supervisor, the consultant advised that he was way too busy with stock taking.
Please do explain the following
1) please explain where in your signed contracts this is stated? I had been to MTN prior to visiting the Vodashop and the necesary was completed and processed without any issues.
2) why was I not provided with this in writing. If consultants are aware of this process, why are they not able to provide same in writing?
3) surely when requesting assistance from a manager, I think a customer takes preferance over STOCK TAKING!!!!
4) surely this goes against the consumer protection act, as being a Vodacom customer myself, I have never been informed of or agreed to any of these terms (that a family member would have to confltinue with my contract in the event of my death).

Eagerly awaiting your response and resolution.

Regards,
Alicia Ford
