Cancellation of data contract sold under false pretence
I was approached in December 2017 by a consultant to purchase a data card from Vodacom as my usage for data was high on my contract. I specifically told the consultant that I want to be able to access the data on my current sim card and that I was not going to make use of data if it can only be used in the ****le. The data card arrived and what was promised to me (to be able to access data on my current sim) was not delivered and as originally suspected I had to access the data through the ****le. The data is on a complete separate device.
Furthermore when the data card was delivered to my office, I was not in the office and someone else signed on my behalf. Which I believe should not be allowed.
I have made a call to the call centre to take the ****le back and to cancel the contract with immediate effect, with no avail.
I suggest that you listen to the original recording where this data bundle was sold to me. This will clearly show that the my original conditions relating to the data purchase was not adhered to. I believe that in accordance with the consumer protection act I am entitled to a cancellation of the contract together with a full refund of the costs incurred to date. I believe that I have a period of six months to action this inline with the consumer protection act for direct marketing. You will notice that I have not made use of this card as yet, as mentioned this is not the way I wanted to access the data.
Please can you attend to this urgently! I have tried with no avail to get this sorted with your various call centre departments.
