Cancellation of contract - 14 day notice issues

Good day,

I have spoken to Clinton (Buy Mondo – Rewards) earlier today who assisted me with an upgrade enquiry etc.

He provided me with a REF:1- ********** ********** .

I am experiencing appalling service when calling the cancellations dept. ( ********** ). I have called numerous times only for someone to answer but then drop the call. I eventually got through to Olga(don't think that is her real name) who pretended to assist me. She asked me to hold while she requested permission from her superiors as "he is unable to add anything on the system without supervisor approval." I think this is why the service complaints against Vodacom are so many as nobody is competent enough to do anything or resolve any enquiry.

I lost my phone on Friday and need to cancel my contract (which is effective as of 1st Feb 2018). I tried to give the reference number I got from Clinton but that fell on deaf ears. I then held on for 10mins only to be told that she cannot help me as my request is outside of the 14days. Seems as if they cannot count their either. I am well within the 14days and was now told that I have to wait 72hrs before a decision is reached upon and only then can it be decided.

This is pathetic service. I was contacted by one of your consultants to upgrade which was easy enough. Now I’m being shoved from pillar to post. As always the is never a manager around to escalate.

Furthermore, I was informed that the contract upgrade effective date is the 1st Feb 2018 and after speaking to Olga and Maria it seems that the effective date was the date of the call and that the 14days cancellation period already commenced despite me not even being effective on the new contract agreed upon. This is somewhat convenient and biased against the client under the circumstances.

As always, I have bad experience with service as calling Vodacom customer services is always an appalling experience and this time was no different. The background noise and laughing and screaming whilst you trying to get your message across is somewhat disgusting not to mention unprofessional. But then again…when did Vodacom every care about being professional. They claim your money and give you bad service in return….in fact bad service sis till some service…..i wouldn’t call what you claim to provider your clients with is even service at all! 

Can you please assist as nobody else seems to want to!!!

Regards

Nazeem
