CANCELLATION OF AN ACCOUNT FOR A DECEASED

My husband passed away in May and at the end of May I advised Vodacom, via their Mall @ Carnival branch to cancel the contract/accoount. They faxed through the documents to heir Head Office and asked me to check with them on the Monday that it was cancelled. When I followed up "they did not receive anything". I faxed the documents through again and checked with the branch at Spings Mall 2 weeks later. Still not ccancelled and I had to pay R660 to get the contract cancelled. I received threatening SMS's to pay within 7 days in order to get the account cancelled. Eventually, although I felt it was wrong, I made payment to get the account cancelled. In July I checked with Springs branch again, and still it was not cancelled. They could not do anything for me as this was a "legal account because it is in arrears". I then started phoning the cancellations and legal departments was given a commitment by Magdeline Sekano that I should received confirmation of cancellation the next day and she will request for a refund to be made. Needless to say, there was no response.

I have today again phoned Vodacom and spoke to Cassandra at the Call Centre, as advised. She could not assist, but advised that there is an outstanding balance of R1320.98 on the account. Why the costs if I requested them at the end of May to cancel the account and they did not allo any further calls from this number.

Today I phoned again and was then transferred to Cancellations (Retentions Dept) and spoke to Zulu who advised that the matter has been referred to legal but that they did not receive any feedback yet – any reason to not come back to me, the customer, as undertaken? He now referred the matterr to Madeline Sekano again and said she will come back to me. I am still waiting....
