Cancellation not done

28/5/2020 - I phoned Cancellations to cancel my contract that was coming to an end on 26/6/2020. 1/7/2020 - Debit Order came off. 10/7/2020 - I phoned Cancellations again, they confirmed the agent did not put through the cancellation order. He will escalate the matter, but the contract would be cancelled within 24-48hrs and they will refund my debit order. This did not happen. 1/8/2020 - Debit Order came off. I reversed this debit order. 7/8/2020 - I phoned Cancellations again. He confirmed that the contract was indeed cancelled. It's now a billing issue. I phoned the accounts department. They say no, contract is not cancelled. And because I reversed the debit order, my account is overdue and they cannot put through a cancellation now. What absolute BULL**** is this?

Why is the consumer bearing the brunt of Vodacom employees not doing their work? The debit orders that are being taken off is ******* and I am lodging a complaint with the National Consumer Commission in due course.

Lovely, another autoreply. I have a few of these Vodacom. No agent ever phones me with regards to my query. Only to try and sell me some more contracts. Terrible, terrible service.

I can confirm that after I took my complaint public on Facebook by tagging in Vodacom, my complaint was sorted out and the contract canceled. It is a shame that I had to do this, as a public smearing of our largest SA companies is unsavoury and one would expect better professional dealings from them.
